# How ScoutPing works

ScoutPing turns a plain-language request into a scout that checks the public web and emails you when the condition is met.

1. Tell ScoutPing what you are waiting for. Describe the change, price, availability, or event, and add a page URL when you have one.
2. ScoutPing keeps checking on the schedule included with your plan.
3. You get an email Ping with the result and the source when the condition is met.

ScoutPing reads public HTML. It does not sign in to the sites you watch.
